Nakshidar began with a simple frustration: the block-printed, mirror-worked, hand-embroidered clothing we grew up around in Gujarat was getting harder to find made properly — and easier to find copied badly. We started this brand to work directly with the artisan families who still do it the slow way, and to bring that work to a wardrobe built for modern life, not just special occasions.
Where every piece begins
Every Nakshidar garment starts in Kutch and Sindh, with the same block-printing and dyeing families who have carried Ajrakh, handblock printing, and mirror work across generations. We pay for the time the craft actually takes — the natural indigo dyeing, the sun-drying between stages, the mirrors set one by one by hand — rather than the time a factory schedule would allow.
What “premium” means to us
We are not interested in premium as a price tag. It shows up in the weight of the cotton, in how evenly a hand-block repeat is stamped, in whether the mirrors are stitched to survive a decade of wear rather than one season. Every collection is designed to be worn often, not saved for one event and forgotten.
